The derivation process of the quantum potential is applied to the Helmholtz equation and it is shown that a similar term also occurs in this case. The possibility of the existence of a potential term is questioned according to the frequency and wave-number quantities of a wave which is the solution of the Helmholtz equation. By using the same approach, it is shown that the quantum potential should be equal to zero.
