Bu kötücül ikiz, Ackroydun eserinde roman kahramanı olan Victor Frankensteinınbastırılmış dürtülerinin bir dışa vurumu olarak kendisini gösterir. Psikolojik sorunları olankahramanının yaşadıklarının anlatıldığı bir vaka defteri olarak sunulan bu eserinde romancı,post- modern döneme ait gotik cinayet romanı örneği sunmaktadır.
