Conference Object Citation - WoS: 0Citation - Scopus: 2Mathematical modeling of stochastic resonance systems(Ieee, 2018) Arli, A. Cagri; Gazi, Orhan; 102896; Elektronik ve Haberleşme MühendisliğiKnowledge of at which condition in a nonlinear threshold system stochastic resonance phenomena occurs, can be important in noise introduced threshold systems. A new method for mathematical modeling of stochastic resonance systems is introduced. The proposed approach can be used for the modeling of many other phenomenons. It's shown that using the mathematical model developed for stochastic resonance systems it's possible to estimate the optimum noise variances necessary for the occurrence of the stochastic resonance. The accuracy of the estimated noise variances are verified by the simulation results.Article Citation - WoS: 27Noise-Aided Belief Propagation List Decoding of Polar Codes(Ieee-inst Electrical Electronics Engineers inc, 2019) Arli, A. Cagri; Gazi, Orhan; 102896; 206005; Elektronik ve Haberleşme MühendisliğiNoise can help weak information bearing signal to be detected in nonlinear systems by the use of stochastic perturbation. In this letter, we propose a novel belief propagation list (BPL) decoder that relies on artificial noise. The proposed decoder is constructed by using parallel independent BP decoders. Noise with different powers are added to different BP decoders that runs in parallel, and the output of the decoder that pass the early detection and termination criteria check is considered as the recovered data. Adding small amount of noise enables the decoder to handle un-converged errors. The obtained results show that the performance of noise-aided BPL decoder is much better than the performances of BP, successive cancelation (SC), and successive cancelation list (SCL) decoders, and it is a bit behind of cyclic redundancy check aided SCL in terms of bit-error rate performance.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 0Citation - Scopus: 0Successive papr reduction of OFDM systems via rotation of optimally selected information symbols(Ieee, 2018) Arli, A. Cagri; Gazi, Orhan; Elektronik ve Haberleşme MühendisliğiHigh peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is one of the vital degrading factors for the performance of communication systems. In this paper, a new PAPR reduction technique called successive reduction of PAPR (SRP) is introduced. It uses a novel approach that high PAPR may be caused by the characteristics of inverse fast Fourier transform operation. Performance and complexity analysis of the SRP method is also investigated.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 0Citation - Scopus: 0The implementation of a successive cancellation polar decoder on xilinx system generator(Ieee, 2017) Arli, A. Cagri; Colak, Ayse; Gazi, Orhan; 206005; 102896; Elektronik ve Haberleşme MühendisliğiPolar coding is the first kind of the capacity achieving codes which are defined for binary-input discrete memoryless channels initially. Parallel processing property of the FPGA allows to decode faster with a margin of complexity. Xilinx System Generator as a practical tool to construct decoding designs in shorter time is a fact. In this study, FPGA implementation of decoding polar codes through Xilinx System Generator is shown.
