Master Thesis A study on some verifiable electronic voting schemes: Dynavote, end-2-end verifiable voting and efficient receipt free voting(2015) Al-Gburi, OmarIn the past decade the electronic voting has been developed of being a way of counting the votes. The process of electronic voting or voting remotely (voting via the Internet) has become one of the interesting research topics, has been built on the provision of many of the regulations that have been implemented to a vote-mail or remote voting. Remote voting systems are more vulnerable to attack by outsiders than electronic voting systems in controlled environments. The remote voting scheme should provide the accuracy and security of the system and also ease of use and coercion (and other things will be mentioned later). In this study, a theoretical study of the electronic vote is given and also countries that have used electronic voting are listed, also barriers and requirements facing the process of designing the electronic election systems have been provided. In addition, a brief background of some encryption algorithms and systems which are used for the purpose of the design of electronic voting systems are given. Some models of schemes (in terms of cryptographic algorithms) have been designed for the purpose of electronic voting are described and the success and failure of each of them are given. The three electronic voting systems, have been described in details and analyzed in terms of success and also shortcomings of these systems. In this study, these three schemes have been chosen since the authors of these three schemes claim to satisfy different aspects of electronic voting requirements . To satisfy one requirement, one may compromise on other requirement. By this way, requirements of electronic voting may be examined.Master Thesis Course material system effectiveness in Iraqı universities(2017) Hussain, Ali MouaidThe effectiveness of ICT towards managing organizational activities in a competitive environment is undeniable. Global organizations and businesses are increasingly adopting ICT advancements within their activities, and gaining enduring benefits as well. Similar trends are obvious even in the educational sector, in the form of increasing adoption of e-learning across the worldMultiple learning platforms as Learning Management System - LMS have been employed, in this regard. It is noted that even Middle East countries have successfully directed their attention towards adopting e-learning trends. Iraq being potentially new with the technology integration has become the focus of this study, with respect to the implementation of Course Management System - CMS across its higher educational institutions. In order to assess its successful adoption and identifying relevant challenges, the study has employed TAM - Technology Acceptance Model, and designed the survey for gaining the faculty members' perceptions and readiness towards its adoption. Besides, qualitative secondary data from literature review, and qualitative primary v data from an interview with an IT expert has also been collected. It therefore adds to the credibility of the research findings to be used by the responsible authorities for taking relevant decisions. The study has acquired valued findings by means of using statistical techniques of Descriptive statistics, Correlation, and Regression analysis. It has been established that the Iraqi faculty members have significant intentions of using the CMS platform as an effective educational medium, once deployed. However, there would be the challenges of internet accessibility and technological awareness of the users and the technical department as well.Master Thesis Design and implementation of grid-based hybrid network for energy efficient wireless sensor networks(2020) Yas Mihyawi, Murtadha AbdullahKablosuz Algılayıcı Ağları (KAA'lar), bir ağda uzamsal olarak dağıtılan algılayıcı düğümleri adı verilen birçok küçük aygıttan oluşur; bu tür aygıtlar algılama, işleme ve iletişim yeteneğine sahiptir ve belirli görevleri tamamlamak için birbirleriyle işbirliği yapar. Bu düğümler pil tabanlı yapısı nedeniyle sınırlı enerji kaynaklarına sahip olduğundan, küme tekniği özellikle ağın ömrü üzerindeki etkisinin yanı sıra enerji tüketimi sorununun üstesinden gelmek için de kullanılır. Bu çalışmada Şebekeye Dayalı Hibrit Şebeke Geliştirme tekniği sağlanmış, bu yöntem enerjinin korunmasını sağlamanın yanı sıra WSN'lerde şebekelerin ömrünü uzatmıştır. Matlab uygulamasını kullanarak, bu teknik, belirli sayıda yineleme işleminde (1500 devir) (500, 600) sensör düğümü için tüketilen enerjinin yanı sıra enerjiyle ilgili iş hacmini de göstermiştir. Sonuç olarak, kaç sensör düğümünün canlı kaldığına, o sayıda turda ölü düğümlerin yüzdesine, ağın ömrünü iyileştiren maksimum tur sayısına ve iki başlangıç enerjisinde tüketilen toplam enerjinin en uygun sonuçlarını elde ettik (Eini = 1 Joule, Eini = 2 Joule) başlangıç enerjileri için önerilen şebeke boyutları (8 x 8) ve (10x10). Anahtar kelimeler: Kablosuz Algılayıcı Ağ, Şebeke Tabanlı Hibrit Ağ, Baz İstasyonu, Küme Kafası.Master Thesis Finding the most suitable irrigation dams for hydropower development by using gis tools(2020) Bayati, Omar AlThis thesis aims to find the most suitable irrigation dams for hydropower development in Turkey to provide clean energy from an available resource by assessing on technical, spatial, and environmental criteria. The selected dams are arranged based on their suitability scores into three categories (high, medium and low) using a multi-criteria fuzzy logic tool that calculates the score separately for each criterion and then aggregates them into an overall suitability score. Six criteria are assessed: normal water level, reservoir storage capacity, dam purpose, years in operation, nearest substation distance and environment impact assessment requirement. The criterion of nearest substation distance was used to ensure that the benefits of potential power are consistent with the cost of grid connection. A methodology for finding best grid connection path is presented based on a multi-criteria geographic information system (GIS) spatial analyst to achieve the least cost, lowest power losses and lowest environmental impact. Two dams are chosen as case studies, Karadere and Karaçomak. For these dams, technical and spatial criteria are evaluated and the potential power and economic benefits are estimated. A least cost path methodology is applied to find the best grid connection path for each of those dams to their nearest substations.Master Thesis How to support project management by using software to increase the efficiency and performance of selected project stages(2016) Mohamed Al-Khazraji, Adel AbduljabbarProject management software is an application which has the capability to help with project planning, organizing, scheduling, managing, developing resource allocation and estimates management. This technology has high value in information retrieval, Electronic Governments, information filtering, text databases, digital libraries, and other aspects, but the problem of feature selection is equally or more important than text-categorization. In this thesis, we did our experiments with the help of standard Reuters-21578 dataset, and we discussed many important topics ranging from collecting data, to organizing data and ultimately using the organized data to efficiently conduct tests using the feature selection metrics. The general idea of any feature selection metric is to determine importance of words using some measure that can keep informative words, and remove non-informative words, which can then help the text-categorization engine categorize a document, D, into some category, C. The feature selection metrics that will be discussed in this thesis are: Term frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), Document Frequency (DF), Mutual Information- Explanation (MI), Chi-square Statistics (CHI), GSS (Galavotti-Sebastiani-Simi) Coefficient – Explanation. It will combine Term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) and Documents Frequency (DF) metrics to prepare the texts in a perfect way. After that, those texts will be used by classification process in Weka to get the best learning machines algorithms and the best performance of system, by computing performance measures such as (accuracy, error rate, recall, precision and F-measure). We compare the reusability of popular active learning algorithms for text classification and identify the best classifiers to use in active learning for text classification. All these mentioned measures were computed and plotted.
