Existence and Uniqueness of Solutions to Fractional Differential Equations in the Frame of Generalized Caputo Fractional Derivatives
    (Springer, 2018) Gambo, Y. Y.; Ameen, R.; Jarad, Fahd; Abdeljawad, T.
The generalized Caputo fractional derivative is a name attributed to the Caputo version of the generalized fractional derivative introduced in Jarad et al. (J. Nonlinear Sci. Appl. 10:2607-2619, 2017). Depending on the value of. in the limiting case, the generality of the derivative is that it gives birth to two different fractional derivatives. However, the existence and uniqueness of solutions to fractional differential equations with generalized Caputo fractional derivatives have not been proven. In this paper, Cauchy problems for differential equations with the above derivative in the space of continuously differentiable functions are studied. Nonlinear Volterra type integral equations of the second kind corresponding to the Cauchy problem are presented. Using Banach fixed point theorem, the existence and uniqueness of solution to the considered Cauchy problem is proven based on the results obtained.

Md Study of Energetics, Melting and Isomerization of Aluminum Microclusters
(Springer, 2006) Boyukata, Mustafa; Guvenc, Ziya B.
Voter and Chen version of an Embedded Atom Model has been applied to study the locally stable structures, energies, melting, isomerization and growth patterns of small aluminum clusters, Al(n), in the size range of n = 2 - 13. Using molecular dynamics and thermal quenching simulations, the global minima and the other locally stable structures have been distinguished from those stationary structures that correspond to saddle points of the potential energy surface. A large number (10000) of independent initial configurations generated at high temperatures has been used to obtain the stable isomers, and the probabilities of sampling different basins of attractions, for each size of the clusters. Their energy spectra have been determined and melting, and isomerization dynamics are investigated.

    Induction for Radiology Patients
(Springer, 2009) Yildirim, Pinar; Tolun, Mehmet R.
This paper represents the implementation of an inductive learning algorithm for patients of Radiology Department in Hacettepe University hospitals to discover the relationship between patient demo-graphics information and time that patients spend during a specific radiology exam. ILA has been used for the implementation which generates rules and the results are evaluated by evaluation metrics. According to generated rules, some patients in different age groups or birthplaces may spend more time for the same radiology exam than the others.

Dualisation of the D=7 Heterotic String -: Art. No. 003
(Springer, 2004) Yilmaz, NT; Yilmaz, NT
The dualisation and the first-order formulation of the D = 7 abelian Yang-Mills supergravity which is the low energy effective limit of the D = 7 fully Higssed heterotic string is discussed. The non-linear coset formulation of the scalars is enlarged to include the entire bosonic sector by introducing dual fields and by constructing the Lie superalgebra which generates the dualized coset element.

Estimation of Cross Sections for Molecule-Cluster Interactions by Using Artificial Neural Networks
(Springer, 2006) Boyukata, Mustafa; Kocyigit, Yucel; Guvenc, Ziya B.
The cross sections Of D-2 (v,j) + Ni-n (T), n = 19 and 20, collision systems have been estimated by using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). For training, previously determined cross section values via molecular dynamics simulation have been used. The performance of the ANNs for predicting any quantities in molecule-cluster interaction has been investigated. Effects of the temperature of the clusters and the rovibrational states of the molecule are analyzed. The results are in good agreement with previous studies.

Alternative Enhancement of Associativity Based Routing (Aeabr) for Mobile Networks
    (Springer, 2010) Preveze, B.; Şafak, A.
This study proposes an alternative enhancement for the Enhanced Associativity Based Routing (EABR) method which is a derivation of ABR (Associativity Based Routing) by relative speed and relative distance estimation using the received power strength (RPS) of the nodes. In this study, it is shown that EABR outperforms some other well known protocols. The performance of EABR is improved in terms of number of route reconstructions (RRC) and connected status percentage (CSP). Message overhead and bandwidth utilization is also investigated. © 2010 ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Soccer Causes Degenerative Changes in the Cervical Spine
    (Springer, 2004) Kartal, A; Yildiran, I; Senköylü, A; Korkusuz, F
Background. Radiological changes and degeneration of the cervical spine have been previously described in soccer players. The onset of such changes was 10-20 years earlier than that of the normal population. The aim of this study was to assess these early degenerative changes in amateur active and veteran soccer players in a cross-sectional descriptive study using biomechanical, radiological, and magnetic resonance measures. Methods. The subjects were active (<30 years; n=15) and veteran (>30 years; n=15) male amateur soccer players, and their age-matched controls (n=13 and n=15). Biomechanical measurements were made on a cervical dynamometer. Dynamic radiological and magnetic resonance findings were also obtained and evaluated. Results. The normalized mean extension moment was higher in the active soccer players, but the mean range of motion was lower. Degenerative changes were prominent in veteran players, and the sagittal diameter of their spinal canal at C2 to C6 was lower when compared to active players and controls. Magnetic resonance findings of degeneration were more prominent in soccer players when compared to their age-matched controls. Conclusion. A tendency towards early degenerative changes exists in soccer players most probably due to high- and/or low-impact recurrent trauma to the cervical spine caused by heading the ball.

Virtual Business Operations, E-Commerce & Its Significance and the Case of Turkey: Current Situation and Its Potential
    (Springer, 2012) Gokmen, Aytac
21(st) century is the age of high technologies penetrated into business leading to virtual businesses and e-commerce applications combined with electronic business (e-business) structures. Virtual businesses are independent and/or partly dependent organizations that have flexible and agile structures to respond the altering business conditions. Yet, electronic commerce (e-commerce) is the exchange of goods and services over the Internet. Both virtual businesses and e-commerce operations enable organizations to have fluid structures, modify the changing conditions, lower expenses, access to new markets and attain new consumers. The e-commerce applications have also been increasing in Turkey at a great pace but not significantly when compared to the total trade volume. For, the aim of this paper is to focus on the virtual businesses, e-commerce, harmonization of the conventional business structures with e-commerce and emphasize the importance of the e-commerce applications in Turkey resting on dependable national and international publications and data. With respect to the research made, it is possible to state that the e-commerce volume of Turkey is increasing as a remedy to cover the foreign trade deficit, but it is still not sufficient when compared to the total trade volume. Additionally, even though Turkey possesses an efficient e-government mechanism and e-signature law to enhance the volume of its e-commerce, the lack of cooperation among parties and standardization as well as the difficulty in adoption of digital transactions would be issues to be tackled in order to develop e-commerce in Turkey.

Prunable collision free random interleaver design
    (Springer, 2012) Gazi, Orhan
In this article we introduce a new collision free prunable random interleaver. The suggested interleaver is a joint structure involving rectangular and S-random interleaver. It comprises a general model for all kind of collision free prunable random interleavers. In addition, it can be designed for any number of parallel processors and any length of information sequence vector and can be considered also as a template for collision free prunable interleavers. The proposed interleaver can be used with all kind of turbo-like codes. The performance of the proposed interleaver is measured with parallel decodable serially concatenated convolutional codes (PDSCCCs) and compared to the PDSCCCs' performance with collision full S-random interleaver.
