Transmittance of Gaussian Beams in Biological Tissues
(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2025) Ozcan, Murat Kaan; Gokce, Muhsin Caner; Baykal, Yahya
The study examines the average transmittance of Gaussian beams passing through various biological tissues, taking into account the impact of turbulence, absorption, and scattering. The extended Huygens-Fresnel technique, which utilizes the power spectrum of turbulent biological tissues, is applied to determine the optical intensity at the observation point. Additionally, there are tabulated absorption and scattering coefficients available for the application of the Beer-Lambert law, facilitating the calculation of optical light attenuation in biological tissues. Examining the impact of turbulence, as well as absorption and scattering-induced attenuation on the Gaussian beam's propagation, the changes in transmittance are documented across different tissue parameters.

Wave Diffraction by a Perfect Magnetic Conductor Half-Plane Between Free Space and Anisotropic Plasma
(Elsevier Gmbh, 2020) Umul, Yusuf Ziya
The diffraction of magnetic polarized electromagnetic plane waves by a perfect magnetic conductor half-screen, located between free space and anisotropic plasma, is studied. The method of transition boundary is used for the solution of the problem. The scattered GO wave is obtained. The diffracted fields are derived with the aid of the scattered GO wave. The uniform expressions of the edge diffracted waves are derived. The behaviors of the evaluated fields are investigated numerically.

Po and Ptd Approach To the Diffraction Problem by a Resistive Half-Plane
(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2014) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz
Diffracted fields from a resistive half-plane were investigated by the method of physical optics (PO) and the physical theory of diffraction. The coefficient of the PO scattering integral was derived for the first time for the resistive half-plane. Uniform fringe field expressions were obtained in terms of the Fresnel functions. The resultant expressions of the fringe fields were plotted and analyzed numerically.

Method of Total Fields for Diffraction Problems Between Different Media
    (Ieee, 2019) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz
In this present study a new method which gives the scattered field by a canonical structure between two different media is introduced. This method is applied to the half-plane with soft boundary condition. The fields are examined numerically. Thus, numerical analysis showed that the proposed method is suitable for these kinds of problems.

Diffraction by an Anomalously Perfect Reflecting Metasurface Half-Plane
(Elsevier Gmbh, 2020) Umul, Yusuf Ziya
The scattering process of plane waves by a half-plane, composed of anomalously perfect reflecting surfaces, is investigated. The solution of the problem is obtained in an original way. The boundary condition of the problem is also taken into account in the construction of the edge diffracted field. The limiting case of the problem is the diffraction of waves by a perfect electric conductor half plane. The obtained field expression are analyzed numerically.

Directive Line Source Scattering by a Half-Plane Between Two Isorefractive Media
(Elsevier Gmbh, Urban & Fischer verlag, 2017) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz
A perfectly conducting half-plane which is lying at the interface between two isorefractive media is investigated for a directive line source illumination. For this purpose, a directive line source is defined by passing a plane-wave from an aperture. Also, more suitable function than the Fresnel function is defined for cylindrical sources. The scattered field and its subfields are obtained by a new method. Consequently, all the mentioned fields are analyzed numerically. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.

Scattering of Waves by a Soft-Hard Half-Plane Between Isorefractive Medium
(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2017) Umul, Yusuf Ziya
The scattering of plane waves by a soft-hard half-plane residing between isorefractive medium is studied. The scattered geometrical optics fields are obtained by subtracting the initial geometrical optics fields from the total geometrical optics waves. The diffracted fields are determined by considering the structure of the scattered geometrical optics waves. The uniform expressions for the diffracted fields are derived. The behaviour of the total waves is investigated numerically.

An Analytical Solution for the Plane Wave Diffraction by a Resistive Half-Plane Residing at the Interface of Left and Right Handed Media
(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz
The diffraction of waves by a resistive half-plane lying on the interface of left and right handed media is investigated in this study. Because of the anomalous refraction property of left handed media, shadow boundary shifts toward to the lower surface of the half-plane. In order to obtain the shifted boundary, diffracted waves are divided to subfields. Thus, obtained diffracted waves compensates the deficiency of geometries optics fields at the transition regions. The uniform version of waves is obtained by using the uniform theory of diffraction. The wave behaviors are examined numerically.

Scattering of Waves by a Perfectly Conducting Wedge Residing at the Interface Between Two Isorefractive Media
(Ieee-inst Electrical Electronics Engineers inc, 2016) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz
Scattered field by a wedge that is surrounded by isorefractive media is analyzed. A series-based method is introduced and applied to the wedge problem with soft boundary condition. The fields are examined numerically. The numerical results show that the proposed method is suitable for analysis of these kinds of problems.
