    An integration of Bayesian belief networks in multi-criteria decision analysis: An application in medical decision making

    This thesis analyzes the Medical counseling problem regarding breast cancer disease by using Bayesian Belief Network structure to visualize the conditional dependencies between variables and their impact on each other. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is utilized to approximate the conditional probabilities of the diagnostic Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) test outcome. The accuracy of the results obtained from surgical biopsy are compared to the actual outcomes and evaluated in terms of consistency and error magnitude

    Yatırım projelerinin net bugünkü riske maruz değer göstergesi kullanılarak karşılaştırılması

    Bu calışmada; net bugünkü değer (NPV), iç verim oranı (IRR), karlılık endeksi (PI), geri ödeme süresi (PP), vb. temel proje değerlendirme kriterleri açısından benzer sonuçlara sahip olan projelerin birbiriyle karşılaştırılabilmesi ve içlerinden en uygun olanın seçilebilmesi için Net bugünükü riske maruz değer (NPV-at-Risk) göstergesi kullanılmıştır. Bu amaçla, talep, değişken maliyet, faiz oranı ve nakit akımı gibi belirsizlik içeren proje değikenlerine yönelik Monte Carlo simülasyonu ile tesadüfi rakamların üretildiği belli sayıdaki hipotetik yatırım projesi için temel proje değerlendirme e kriterlerine ek olarak NPV-at-Risk değerleri de bulunmuştur. NPV-at-Risk değerleri, simüle edilmiş nakit akı¸slarındaki yıllık değişimlerin Riske Maruz Değerleri (VaR) ¨uzerinden farklı güven aralıkları için hesaplanmıştır. Son olarak kabarcık grafiği (bubble diagram) çizilerek projeler grafik üzerinde görüntülenmiş; NPV-at-Risk, yatırım büyüklüğü ve Beklenen Net Bugünkü Riske Maruz Değerleri E[NPV] açısından karşılaştırılabilmiştir.
