Production and Retrieval off Rough Classes in Multi Relations
(IEEE Computer Soc, 2007) Sever, Hayri; Gorur, A. Kadir; Tolun, Mehmet R.
Organizational memory in today's business world forms basis for organizational learning, which is the ability of an organization to gain insight and understanding from experience through experimentation, observation, analysis, and a willingness to examine both successes and failures. This basically requires consideration of different aspects of knowledge that may reside on top of a conventional information management system. Of them, representation, retrieval and production issues of meta patterns constitute to the main theme of this article. Particularly we are interested in a formal approach to handle rough concepts. We utilize rough classifiers to propose a preliminary framework based on minimal term sets with p-norms to extract meta patterns. We describe a relational rule induction approach, which is called rila. Experimental results are provided on the mutagenesis, and the KDD Cup 2001 genes data sets.

(Chiminform Data S A, 2007) Guvenc, Aysegul; Baleanu, Dumitru; Arihan, Okan; Altun, M. Levent; Dinc, Erdal; Baleanu, Dumitru; Matematik
In this paper, we find the salicin content of the nine species of Salix L from the province of Ankara, Turkey, namely Salix triandra, S. alba, S. excelsa, S. fragilis, S. babylonica, S. caprea, S. cinerea, S. pseudomedemii and S. amplexicaulis. A simple HPLC method was applied to the determination of Salicin of these nine species in barks and leaves of female and male. Chromatographic separation was carried out by a mobile phase consisting of bidistilled water, tetrahydrofuran and ortho-phosphoric acid (97.7: 1.8: 0.5) (v/v/v). The salicin amount of these samples was analyzed by measuring the peak area at the wavelength, 270 nm. A reversed phase phenyl column (250 x 4.6mm, 5 mu m) was used and flow rate was set to 1 ml/min. in an isocratic elution. The results provided 6 HPLC method was found in agreement with those indicated by European Pharmacopoeia. It was observed that S. babylonica female bark sample possess the highest salicin content (2.675), while S. caprea female bark (0.058) has the lowest salicin content as w/w (%).

Propagation of a Generalized Beam in Abcd System
(Cemal Ardil-IEC Barbaros Mah Hasret Sitesi, 2005) Eyyuboglu, HT; Elektronik ve Haberleşme Mühendisliği
For a generalized Hermite sinosiodal/hyperbolic Gaussian beam passing through an ABCD system with a finite aperture, the propagation properties are derived using the Collins integral. The results are obtained in the form of intensity graphs indicating that previously demonstrated rules of reciprocity are applicable, while the existence of the aperture accelerates this transformation.

Comparative Application of Wavelet Approaches To Absorption and Ratio Spectra for the Simultaneous Determination of Diminazene Aceturate and Phenazone in Veterinary Granules for Injection
(Govi-verlag Pharmazeutischer verlag Gmbh, 2005) Dinç, E; Baleanu, Dumitru; Kanbur, M; Baleanu, D; Matematik
A comparison of two wavelet approaches, Daubechies and reverse Biorthogonal, is described for the quantitative resolution of a binary mixture of diminazene aceturate (DIMA) and phenazone (PHE) in veterinary granules for injection without any chemical separation. These two approaches were specified as db4 (a = 180) and rbior3.7 (a = 125) respectively, after testing the signal analysis parameters for the overlapping absorption spectra and ratio spectra. In the first step db4 (a = 180) was applied to the original absorbance data vector of DIMA and PHE. In the second step rbio3.7 (a = 125) was applied to the ratio spectra data vectors of DIMA using the divisor PHE. The same approach was also subjected to the ratio spectra of PHE using the divisor DIMA. The db4 (a = 180) and rbior3.7 (a = 125) calibration graphs were constructed using the transformation values obtained in the wavelet domain. In the method validation, the wavelet calibration functions were tested using synthetic mixtures and the standard addition technique. The simultaneous quantitative analysis of DIMA and PHE in the commercial veterinary preparation was achieved by the elaborated methods. The assay results were compared with each other and good agreement was observed.

Bit Error Rates for Focused General-Type Beams
(Electromagnetics Acad, 2009) Arpali, Serap; Arpali, Serap Altay; Baykal, Yahya Kemal; Baykal, Yahya; Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği; Elektronik ve Haberleşme Mühendisliği
Using the scintillation index of general beam formulation, bit error rate (BER) is investigated for focused Gaussian, cos-Gaussian, cosh-Gaussian and annular beams in weak atmospheric turbulence. We have employed our previously derived formulation of the scintillation index of these beams by Rytov method. Rytov method scintillation theory is known to yield accurate results for focused beams on horizontal paths under certain regions. Therefore we find the scintillation indices of the mentioned beams for the valid region. Using the log-normal distributed intensity, BER values versus signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are calculated for Gaussian, cos-Gaussian, cosh-Gaussian and annular beams. In our study, the focal lengths (radius of curvature) of all the mentioned focused beams are equal to the propagation distance. The improvement of BER is observed for variations of propagation length, source size and wavelength of operation. Based on these parameters, BER values of Gaussian, cos-Gaussian, cosh-Gaussian and annular beams are compared. BER values we found for the focused Gaussian, cos-Gaussian, cosh-Gaussian and annular beams decrease with increasing source sizes. Likewise, BER values of focused Gaussian, cos-Gaussian, cosh-Gaussian and annular beams decrease with increasing wavelength. The focused annular beam attains the lowest BER value for small source sizes and long propagation distances. Moreover, BER for focused beams is compared with their collimated counterparts. We observe that focused beams have lower BER values than the collimated beams on horizontal paths. Our formulation can easily be extended to cover corresponding higher order beams, however in this paper we concentrate mainly on the zero order beams.

One-Dimension Continuous Wavelet Resolution for the Simultaneous Analysis of Binary Mixture of Benazepril and Hydrochlorothiazide in Tablets Using Spectrophotometric Absorbance Data
(Editura Academiei Romane, 2004) Dinç, E; Baleanu, Dumitru; Baleanu, D; Matematik
One-dimensional continuous wavelets transform (CWT) followed by a zero-crossing technique were applied to the quantitative resolution of a binary mixture of benazepril (BE) and hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) in two commercial tablet formulations. UV-spectra in the range of 210.1-300.0 nm, were recorded and transferred as vectors having 900 components into MATLAB 6.5. The analyzed signals corresponding to the above vectors were subjected to three CWT families, namely, Mexican (MEX), Haar (HA) and Daubechies3 (DAUB3) wavelets. For these three families a detailed analysis procedure was performed and we retained only those parameters creating many zero-crossing points for transformed signals. At locations where the wavelet transform of one component vanishes, the value of the mixture's transformed signal is due only to the other component. This allows rapid approximate determination of the concentrations. The above three wavelet bases provided reliable results of the analysis of the mixtures containing BE and HCT in two pharmaceutical tablet formulations.
