Article Citation - WoS: 16Citation - Scopus: 16Comparative Application of Wavelet Approaches To Absorption and Ratio Spectra for the Simultaneous Determination of Diminazene Aceturate and Phenazone in Veterinary Granules for Injection(Govi-verlag Pharmazeutischer verlag Gmbh, 2005) Dinç, E; Baleanu, Dumitru; Kanbur, M; Baleanu, D; MatematikA comparison of two wavelet approaches, Daubechies and reverse Biorthogonal, is described for the quantitative resolution of a binary mixture of diminazene aceturate (DIMA) and phenazone (PHE) in veterinary granules for injection without any chemical separation. These two approaches were specified as db4 (a = 180) and rbior3.7 (a = 125) respectively, after testing the signal analysis parameters for the overlapping absorption spectra and ratio spectra. In the first step db4 (a = 180) was applied to the original absorbance data vector of DIMA and PHE. In the second step rbio3.7 (a = 125) was applied to the ratio spectra data vectors of DIMA using the divisor PHE. The same approach was also subjected to the ratio spectra of PHE using the divisor DIMA. The db4 (a = 180) and rbior3.7 (a = 125) calibration graphs were constructed using the transformation values obtained in the wavelet domain. In the method validation, the wavelet calibration functions were tested using synthetic mixtures and the standard addition technique. The simultaneous quantitative analysis of DIMA and PHE in the commercial veterinary preparation was achieved by the elaborated methods. The assay results were compared with each other and good agreement was observed.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Solutions of Massless Conformal Scalar Field in an N-Dimensional Einstein Space(Jagiellonian Univ Press, 2008) Muslih, Sami I.; Baleanu, Dumitru; Baleanu, Dumitru; Rabei, Eqab M.; MatematikIn this paper the wave equation for massless conformal scalar field in an Einstein's n-dimensional universe is solved and the eigen frequencies are obtained. This problem is further complicated in wireless networks as the rate of frame corruption or loss is higher in wireless networks while they generally have lower data rates compared to wired networks. On the other hand, variations of the bandwidth and the receiving device characteristics require data rate adaptation capability of the coding method. Multiple Description Coding (MDC) methods are used to solve the jitter delay and frame loss problems by making the transmitted data more error resilient, however, this results in reduced data rate because of the added overhead. MDC methods do not address the bandwidth variation and receiver characteristics differences. In this paper a new method based on integrating MDC and the scalable video coding extension of H.264 standard is proposed. Our method can handle both jitter delay and frame loss, and data rate adaptation problems. Our method utilizes motion compensating scheme and, therefore, is compatible with the current video coding standards such as MPEG-4 and H.264. Based on the simulated network conditions, our method shows promising results and we have achieved tip to 36dB for average Y-PSNR.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 9Combined Application of Continuous Wavelet Transform-Zero Crossing Technique in the Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Perindopril and Indapamid in Tablets(Soc Brasileira Quimica, 2009) Pektas, Goezde; Baleanu, Dumitru; Dinc, Erdal; Baleanu, Dumitru; Pektag, Gözde; MatematikSignal processing methods based on the combined use of the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and zero-crossing technique were applied to the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of perindopril (PER) and indapamide (IND) in tablets. These signal processing methods do not require any priory separation step. Initially, various wavelet families were tested to identify the optimum signal processing giving the best recovery results. From this procedure, the Haar and Biorthogonal 1.5 continuous wavelet transform (HAAR-CWT and BIOR 1.5-CWT, respectively) were found suitable for the analysis of the related compounds. After transformation of the absorbance vectors by using HAAR-CWT and BIOR 1.5-CWT, the CWT-coefficients were drawn as a graph versus wavelength and then the HAAR-CWT and BIOR 1.5-CWT spectra were obtained. Calibration graphs for PER and IND were obtained by measuring the CWT amplitudes at 231.1 and 291.0 rim in the HAAR-CWT spectra and at 228.5 and 246.8 nm in BIOR 1.5-CWT spectra. respectively. In order to compare the performance of HAAR-CWT and BIOR 1.5-CWT approaches, derivative spectrophotometric (DS) method and HPLC as comparison methods, were applied to the PER-IND samples. In this DS method, first derivative absorbance values at 221.6 for PER and 282.7 nm for IND were used to obtain the calibration graphs. The validation of the CWT and DS signal processing methods was carried out by using the recovery study and standard addition technique. In the following step, these methods were Successfully applied to the commercial tablets containing PER and IND compounds and good accuracy and precision were reported for the experimental results obtained by all proposed signal processing methods.Article Citation - WoS: 9Non-Polynomial Third Order Equations Which Pass the Painleve Test(Walter de Gruyter Gmbh, 2004) Mugan, U; Jarad, Fahd; Jarad, F; MatematikThe singular point analysis of third-order ordinary differential equations in the non-polynomial class is presented. Keeping in mind to obtain an appropriately transformed spectrum, we tested several values of the scaling parameter a and the point number of the analysed spectrum in the concentration range of 2-22 mug/ml for both active compounds. The optimal values of the scale parameters and the corresponding frequencies were found to be a = 32 and 0.031 for HA and a = 30 and 0.008 for MEX corresponding to 400 points. HA and MEX methods based on a zero crossing technique were applied to the analysed signal and their regression lines at the selected points were obtained. The validation of the above methods was carried out by analysing different synthetic mixtures containing HCT and SP. MATLAB 6.5. Software was used for one-dimensional wavelet analysis and the basic concepts about wavelet method were briefly explained. The method developed in this paper is rapid, easy to apply, inexpensive and is suitable for analysing the overlapping signals of compounds in their mixtures without any chemical pre-treatment.Article Citation - WoS: 12The Role of Aerodynamic Modifications in the Form of Tall Buildings Against Wind Excitation(Middle East Technical Univ, 2007) Ilgin, H. Emre; Gunel, M. HalisModern tall buildings go higher and higher with the advances in structural design and high strength materials. However, every advance in height comes with a new difficulty. Efficient structural systems, high strength materials, and increased height, result with decrease in building weight and damping, and increase in slenderness. On the other hand, as the height and slenderness increase, buildings suffer from increased flexibility, which has negative effects in wind loading. Flexible structures are affected by vibration under the action of wind which cause building motion, and plays an important role in the structural and architectural designs. Understandably, contemporary tall buildings are much more vulnerable to wind excitation than their predecessors. Hence, different design methods and modifications are possible in order to ensure the functional performance of flexible structures and control the wind induced motion of tall buildings. An extremely important and effective design approach among these methods is aerodynamic modifications in architecture. In this context, the authors classify these aerodynamic modifications in architecture for resisting the lateral loads. Wind safe tall building design begins with the architect, and the influence of the wind action must be taken into consideration from the very beginning of the architectural design process by considering building aerodynamics.Article Citation - WoS: 10Is the J-Curve Effect Observable in Turkish Agricultural Sector(Univ Zagreb, Fac Agriculture, 2006) Yazici, Mehmet; Yazıcı, Mehmet; İktisatThis paper investigates whether or not the J-curve hypothesis holds in Turkish agricultural sector. The analysis is conducted using the model the most commonly employed in j-curve literature. Based on the data covering the period from 1986: I to 1998: III, our results indicate that, following devaluation, agricultural trade balance initially improves, then worsens, and then improves again. This pattern shows that J-curve effect does not exist in Turkish agricultural sector. Another important finding is that devaluation worsens the trade balance of the sector in the long run, a result contradicting with the earlier findings for the Turkish economy as a whole.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3The Property of Smallness Up To a Complemented Banach Subspace(Kossuth Lajos Tudomanyegyetem, 2004) Abdeljawad, T; Abdeljawad, Thabet; Yurdakul, M; MatematikThis article investigates locally convex spaces which satisfy the property of smallness up to a complemented Banach subspace, the SCBS property, which was introduced by Djakov, Terzioglu, Yurdakul and Zahariuta. It is proved that a bounded perturbation of an automorphism on a complete barrelled locally convex, space with the SCBS is stable up to a Banach subspace. New examples are given, and the relation of the SCBS with the quasinormability is analyzed. It is proved that the Frechet space l(p+) does not satisfy the SCBS, therefore this property is not inherited by subspaces or separated quotients.Article Citation - WoS: 26Citation - Scopus: 32Solving of the Fractional Non-Linear and Linear Schrodinger Equations by Homotopy Perturbation Method(Editura Acad Romane, 2009) Baleanu, Dumitru; Baleanu, Dumitru; Golmankhaneh, Alireza K.; Golmankhaneh, Ali K.; MatematikIn this paper, the homotopy perturbation method is applied to obtain approximate analytical solutions of the fractional non-linear Schrodinger equations. The solutions are obtained in the form of rapidly convergent infinite series with easily computable terms. We illustrated the ability of the method for solving fractional non linear equation by some examples.
