Article Optimization of Portable Electric Vehicle Charging Station Deployment Using a Mixed Integer Programming Approach(Amer Inst Mathematical Sciences-AIMS, 2026) Yavuz, Nilgun Beyza; Vurgun, Asli Ahsen; Qadri, Syed Shah Sultan Mohiuddin. This study addresses the supply and demand imbalance in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by proposing a strategic optimization model for the rollout of portable charging stations. Going beyond the problems of fixed facility locations, we develop a multi-period Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) model that treats portability as a dynamic buffer to address demand variability over time. The objective is to maximize total net profit, which is a combination of net operational revenues and vital cost dimensions: fixed deployment costs, marginal operational costs, penalties on unserved demand, and logistical relocation costs incurred in moving units across planning periods. The mathematical program is modeled in GAMS and optimized to the global optimum using the CPLEX solver, with a full-factorial Design of Experiments (DOE) across different operational conditions. Such situations are used to systematically analyze the interactions among demand intensity, relocation costs, and penalty multipliers. Qualitative analysis shows the penalty cost of unserved demand has a greater influence in profitability compared to the cost of installing and operating. The analysis of the study finds an optimal operating point at which the system is in perfect balance between financial gains and service reliability. Moreover, we propose a definition of an Operational Lockdown Zone in which system stagnation occurs when the cost of over-relocation exceeds the marginal gains from service. The findings indicate that demand-responsive planning and optimized portability can provide a better buffer to uncertainty than the conventional budget expansion. The suggested model can therefore be a powerful decision-support system for developing sustainable, adaptive, and resource-efficient EV charging networks.Article The Effects of Different Kinds of Brand Mascots Used in Advertisements on Visual Attention: An Experımental Study(Inst Superior entre Douro & Vouga, 2025) Yalcin, Mustafa; Ulan, Sevilay; Gecit, ErdemMascots, which are frequently featured in advertising campaigns, can be said to be an important visual tool that enables the brand to attract attention and differentiate itself from its competitors. In a competitive market environment, brands addressing consumers through mascots can strengthen the positive image of the brand by gaining a place in their minds and hearts. For this reason, it is an important research topic to examine the visual attraction levels of brand mascots that can represent the identity and personality of the brand. In this study, the visual attention level of consumers for different types of brand mascots used in Instagram advertisements was determined by an experimental method. In the scope of the research, Mascot samples representing four different mascot types: animal, robot, object, and fantastic hero were selected. Through these mascot samples, the visual attention levels of 30 participants were measured with the eye tracking device, which is one of the biometric measurement methods. In this context, the participants' heat map, initial focus time, total focus time, and number of looks were recorded. Accordingly, the brand mascots, Compared to the product image, product information, and campaign information images, it has been observed that low visual attractiveness levels are low. On the other hand, it was concluded that the attraction level of object and animal type mascots is higher than robot and fantastic type mascots.Article Effects of Communication Competency and Self-Esteem on Gaming Addiction Symptoms(Turkish Green Crescent Soc, 2022) Bulut, Merve Topcu; Salis, IremGaming behavior has become more and more popular, but there has not been any research that considers the relationship between communication competency, self-esteem, and internet gaming addiction symptoms. The main aim of the ongoing study was to assess the associations between internet gaming addiction symptoms, self-esteem, and dimensions of communication competency. For this purpose, data were obtained from 455 individuals (47.7% females and 52.3% males) who reported that they are involved in gaming. In this study, participants were assessed with the following scale set: Sociodemographic Form, Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form, Communicative Competence Scale, and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Analyses indicated that the internet gaming disorder total score has a significant and negative correlation with self-esteem and dimensions of communication competency. Besides these results, self-esteem and listening competency of dimensions of communication competency have been found as a significant predictor of internet gaming disorder total score. In the literature, there has been only finite published research analyzing the dimensions of communication competency, self-esteem, and internet gaming disorder.Article Violation of Public Policy as a Ground for Annulment of an Arbitral Award Within the Context of Arbitration Proceedings Conducted Pursuant to the Code of Civil Procedure(Istanbul Univ, Fac Law, 2025) Tanriver, SuhaThe subject of this study is the violation of public policy, which constitutes one of the most significant grounds for setting aside an arbitral award within the framework of arbitration proceedings conducted under the provisions of the Turkish Code of Civil Procedure. In this context, it is first demonstrated that it is difficult to provide a precise definition of public policy due to its variable nature depending on time and place. Classifications proposed in relation to this concept are addressed, and by taking into account scholarly opinions and especially judicial practice, it is determined that a violation of public policy, as a ground for setting aside, refers to contradictions with the body of institutions and rules that protect the fundamental structure and core interests of Turkish society at a given point in time. Subsequently, individual cases considered as violations of public policy-particularly in light of court decisions-are examined, and specific issues often associated with such violations are analyzed and critiqued. Finally, the study emphasizes that the determination of a violation of public policy lies within the discretion of the court, depending on the particular circumstances and features of the case. It is also noted that, even if not explicitly raised in the statement of claim for annulment, the court may consider this issue ex officio, and the related review-albeit to a limited extent-permits substantive scrutiny of the arbitral award.Article On the Determination of the Quadratic Pencil of the Sturm-Liouville Operator With an Impulse(Pleiades Publishing Ltd, 2025) Khalili, Y.; Baleanu, D.In this work, an inverse problem for the quadratic pencil of the Sturm-Liouville operator with an impulse in the finite interval is considered. Materials and Methods: This study's sample consisted of 142 parents of preschoolers. Data were collected using the "Demographic Information Form", "Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire", "Social Competence" and Behavior Evaluation Scale-30, and Parenting Attitude Scale. Results: Significant moderate correlations were found between sleep habits, parental attitudes, and children's behavioral-emotional problems. The mediatory role of sleep duration and sleep anxiety of the children between democratic parental attitude and social competence was also significant. The mediators (sleep duration and sleep anxiety) accounted for part of the pathway through which democratic parenting affects social competence. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the pivotal role of parental attitudes in influencing children's sleep-related difficulties and daytime behavioral problems. Effective management of sleep anxiety and sleep duration in children has the potential to enhance their behavioral and emotional outcomes.Article Explicit Commutativity and Stability Theories for Second-Order Heun's LTVSs(World Scientific Publ Co Pte Ltd, 2025) Ibrahim, Salisu; Baleanu, DumitruThis paper derived and proved the simplex explicit commutativity theories and conditions for second-order linear time-varying systems (LTVSs) with both zero and nonzero initial conditions (ICs). We consider Heun's LTVS as a case study to verify the explicit commutative results, which were supported by simulation. Furthermore, we investigate the sensitivity of Heun's LTVS, the robustness of Heun's LTVS, the stability of Heun's LTVS, the effects due to disturbance on Heun's LTVS and the problem associated with commutativity of Heun's LTVS. These findings will tackle many problems related to the commutativity theory, the stability of LTVS, design and behavior of control systems, which have made an essential contribution and play a vital role in science and engineering. By considering a sinusoid of amplitude 5, bias -3 and frequency 7, with parameters c2,c1,c0 and an arbitrary choosing initial time (IT) t0 to be and also the initial states yA(0),yB(0),yA '(0),yB '(0), several quantitative results obtained by simulation show that the Heun's LTVSs AB and BA give the same output response, AB and BA are commutative under certain conditions and proved to be unstable numerically. Moreover, the quantitative results proved that the Heun's LTVSs AB and BA are very sensitive toward changes in ICs and parameters. Disturbance between the connections also affects the systems AB and BA, these give different responses as a result of tampering with the conditions, hence commutativity is not satisfied. Several examples have been given to support our fact explicitly and numerically. However, the explicit commutativity and stability for Heun's LTVS have not been in the literature yet, and this paper presents it for the first time. The results are well verified by simulation and treated with Wolfram Mathematica 11.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 5Exact Analytical Solutions for Nonlinear Systems of Conformable Partial Differential Equations Via an Analytical Approach(Univ Politehnica Bucharest, Sci Bull, 2022) Thabet, Hayman; Baleanu, Dumitru; Kendre, Subhash; Baleanu, Dumitru; Peters, James; MatematikMany numerical and analytical methods have been developed for solving Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and conformable PDEs, most of which provide approximate solutions. Exact solutions, however, are vitally important in the proper understanding of the qualitative features of the concerned phenomena and processes. This paper introduces an effective analytical approach for solving nonlinear systems of conformable space-time PDEs. Moreover, the convergence theorem and error analysis of the proposed method are also shown. An essential benefit of this paper is that it yields exact analytical solutions for some nonlinear dynamical systems of conformable space-time PDEs. The Graphical representations of solutions are shown to confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the suggested method.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Solving Existence Problems Via F-Contraction in Modified B-Metric Spaces(Turkic World Mathematical Soc, 2022) Karapinar, E.; Karapınar, Erdal; Sedghi, S.; Shobe, N.; MatematikIn this paper, we introduce a new abstract structure, expanded b-metric, as an natural extension of b-metric.
