  • Master Thesis
Following a moving object in a bounded area
    (2009) Akkuş, Hasan Emre
The aim of this thesis is to improve the usage of a device called teleprompter which is used worldwide for all kinds of presentations. Our purpose is to give a free motion capability to the presenter who uses the teleprompter. Current usage of this device restricts the motion capability of the presenters. The fundamental approach is to detect the presenter’s location and turning the screen of the prompter to the presenter. We use a camera to capture the motion of the presenter. Then we analyze these images captured by the camera and we detect the exact point of the presenter on the area wheres/he realizes her/his speech. After we detect the exact point of the presenter, we establish a connection between the presenter and the teleprompter. Then, we turn the teleprompter’s screen to the presenter. So the presenter could easily see and read the article displayed over the teleprompter’s screen. The software we developed has two main modules. First module analyzes the presenter’s motion and it calculates the angle between the exact point of the teleprompter and the exact point of the presenter. Then it sends this angle’s information to the second module which simulates the teleprompter’s behavior.
