Türkiye’de kapitalist gelişme ve yurttaşlık

Abstract

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin inşa sürecini burjuva devrimleri bağlamında inceleyen çalışma, yurttaşlık kurumunun temel belirlenimlerinin bu tarihsel arka planda biçimlendiğini ileri sürüyor. Türkiye’de yaşanılan burjuva devrimi, Amerikan, İngiliz ya da Fransız örneklerinin sergilediği gibi klasik burjuva devrimlerden biri değil. Türkiye’deki burjuva devrimi tipik örneğini Alman tarihinde bulabileceğimiz “tepeden devrim” kategorisi içerisinde değerlendirilmelidir. Türkiye’deki yurttaşlık da böyle bir devrimin izlerini taşımaktadır.

This article analyses the construction period of the Turkish Republic in terms of the bourgeois revolutions and argues that the fundamental determinants of citizenship as an institution were shaped in relation with this background. The bourgeois revolution experienced in Turkey is not akin to the classical bourgeois revolutions exemplified by the American, English, or French revolutions. The Turkish bourgeois revolution should be considered within the caterogy of “revolution from above” that can best be seen in the case of Germany. The concept of citizenship in Turkey bears the footprints of such type of revolution
