Tarihsel Katmanlaşmanın Belgelenmesi, Doğal ve Fiziksel Değerlerin Koruma Bağlamında Değerlendirilmesi: Kapadokya Bölgesi, Niğde İli Örneği

Abstract

Farklı medeniyetlerin hâkimiyet kurarak farklı dönemlerde inşa ettikleri yapıların ve yerleşimlerin üst üste gelmesi sonucunda günümüzde çok katmanlı yerleşimler ortaya çıkmıştır. Anadolu’da pek çok kent, tarihsel sürekliliğe sahip çok katmanlı yerleşim özelliği göstermektedir. Bu kentlerden biri olan Kapadokya Bölgesi’ndeki Niğde İli çeşitli uygarlıklara ait eserlerden oluşan zengin kültür mirasına sahip olup tarihi dönemlerin izlerini taşımaktadır. Niğde stratejik konumuyla önemli tarihi yerleşimlerden biri olmasına rağmen günümüzde Kapadokya denilince akla gelmeyen bir kenttir. Tarihi önemi vurgulanamamış ve değerli kültürel varlıklara sahip olmasına rağmen turizm yönünde gelişememiştir. Bu çalışmada, ayakta olan, yeraltında olduğu bilinen ve izleri olan, Niğde İli’ne özgü karakterleri oluşturan değerler bütününün sürdürülebilir korunması için tarihsel sürekliliğin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, belgeleme-sunum, değerlendirme olarak üç aşamadan oluşan bir yöntem ile ilin sahip olduğu değerler tespit edilerek sayısal ortamda her döneme ait eser ve yerleşme bilgileri içeren haritalarla belgelenmiştir. Tüm dönemler için ayrı ayrı elde edilen verilerin çakıştırılarak değerlendirilmesi sureti ile katmanlaşma haritası oluşturulmuştur. Kapadokya Bölgesi’nin tanınan değerli yerleşimleri kadar değerli niteliklere sahip Niğde İli’nin tarihsel katmanlaşmasının ortaya çıkartılarak belgelenmesinin yapıldığı bu çalışma ile Niğde İli ile ilgili koruma kararları, strateji ve politikalarının oluşturulacağı çalışmalara katkı sağlanması amaçlanmıştır.Stratified settlements have a risen as a result of overlapping settlements and buildings constructed by various civilizations that reigned a certain region in different time periods. A reasonable number of cities in Anatolia exhibit characteristics of stratified settlements that hold historical incessantness. One of those cities, Province of Niğde in Cappadocia Region, is vested with the traces of historical periods of various civilizations. Niğde, though it is one of the main historical settlements due to its strategic location, does not spring to mind immediately after the name Cappadocia is pronounced. Its historical importance has not been emphasized and it has valuable cultural assets, it has not developed in the direction of tourism. In this study, it was aimed to determine the historical continuity of the sustainable protection of the whole of the values which are standing, which are known to be underground and whose traits are unique to Niğde. The values that the province possesses were determined by means of a three-step method as research, documentation-presentation and evaluation, and it was documented in the digital environment with the maps containing the works and settlement information of each turn. The stratification map has been created for each period by evaluating the data obtained separately. With this study, in which the historical stratification of Niğde Province, which has as valuable qualities as the precious settlements of the Cappadocia Region, is revealed and documented, it is aimed to contribute to the work that will form the preservation decisions, strategies and policies about Niğde.
